Overview

Developed to empower the marketing team.

Olliv, previously known as Coinflip, strives to simplify the concept of cryptocurrency and make it safe and accessible for everyone. In order to achieve this, they aimed to personalize their message to each and every individual. By utilizing DatoCMS, I enabled the marketing team to create dynamic and localized landing pages within minutes without having to depend on IT.
challenges

The balance of convention vs flexibility is often tough to get right.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. An Art Director designs a stunning layout, and the developer executes it flawlessly. However, when the business undergoes rapid growth, the requirements change. Should the components be less rigid? What if the client is inundated with too many options in the CMS, and the pages they create become too cluttered? In order to satisfy both the client and their target market, I devised a flexible and user-friendly CMS system and component library that adhered to the original art direction, ensuring clear and simple communication with the audience while being easy to maintain.
approach

Visualizing components for a headless CMS.

In order to allow the client to communicate to different audiences all over the world I created a large library of components, each with multiple design-approved configurable options. To help visualize — I created a comprehensive storybook detailing the library, its configurable states, and example use cases. Utilizing graphQL subscriptions I allowed for real-time preview updates of a page while it’s being authored which helped to make creating new pages as frictionless as possible.
features

Localization creates belonging, and this feeling is hyper-important for inclusion for Olliv’s audience.

Olliv’s goal is to make crypto for Olliv us and when it comes to localizing content for everyone small details matter. Non-English visitors notice URLs and date formats, by customizing the experience to what they are accustomed to it makes them feel like the site was crafted for them, rather than retrofitted. I went above the ask to ensure their dynamic landing pages (up to 3 levels deep) have completely localized urls, making them the only crypto company on the market to have this feature.
